Indonesia Will Spend More Than $3 Billion/yr. for Power Plant Flow Control and Treatment Over the Next Ten Years

Indonesia is building 38,000 MW of coal-fired power plants over the next ten years.  This will more than double the generating capacity of the nation.  This makes Indonesia one of the top ten purchasers of power plant equipment over the coming decade. To put it in perspective, Indonesia is building as many coal-fired power plants as the U.S. is retiring.  Unlike the U.S. there is only one generating company in Indonesia.  So this company jumps into the top 500 flow control and treatment purchasers in the world.

PLN(Perusahaan Listrik Negara, English: 'State Electricity Company') is an Indonesian government-owned corporation which has a monopoly on  electricity distributioninIndonesia.  The company generates much of its electricity from coal.  PLN will spend more than $6 billion per year for flow control and treatment in 2022/23  just for coal-fired power plants and will  also spend several billion dollars more for flow control and treatment at non-coal facilities.  This qualifies PLN as one of the top 500 flow control and treatment purchasers in the world.

The following estimates of sales to PLN for flow control equipment are based on the assumption that the majority of the sales value is booked a year before start up for capital items and that repair sales take place in the same year as installation is made.  Forecasts have been made in two-year increments.
